Going to the Phils game last night was a ton of fun, but man is my butt dragging this morning. Ugh. If there were such a thing as a coffee IV, I'd be completely hooked up by now.
The first half of the night was great... perfect baseball weather, really. Sunny skies and not too hot and not too cold. The second half, though, was another story. Around the middle of the sixth inning, the skies opened up, thunder rumbled, and lightning flashed. Lib and I (along with every other Phillies fan in attendance) took cover under the overhangs and watched the field crew scramble to cover up the infield. With a rain delay officially called, the jumbo screen switched to the Flyers/Penguins playoff game... although that wasn't a happy ending. =/
Lib and I then met up with cousin Zach, two of his friends, Em, and her new squeeze Chaz at McFadden's for a short birthday celebration for Zach. I had no idea he would be at the game until I had updated my Facebook status on the way into the city, and my aunt commented that Zach would also be in attendance. So pretty cool that I got to hang out with my cousin for a bit... and now he can stop whining that I never go out for a beer with him. ;)
I didn't get on the train back home until 11:15 and rolled in an hour later. Then it was another hour until I flopped in bed, due to having to wash the city grime off of my body, haha. So going to bed two hours later than normal results in a very sleepy, sluggish Jelli. I've been doing pretty good so far, but boy I wouldn't turn down a nap if I could take one.
Anyway, two of the photos last night (taken with my phone because I'm an idiot and forgot my camera):
Memorial outside CBP to longtime Phillies announcer Harry Kalas.
Shot of the park before the game started.
