I took the laptop and cord to Circuit City on Friday to see if the computer geeks there would be able to work their magic. Nope, no dice. They said I either have to solder something in the port (apparently there's a piece missing that would normally keep the cord in place) or get the motherboard replaced. Though I'm not quite sure what replacing the motherboard will do to fix the port.
Anyhoo, I tried a little experiment earlier tonight and managed to wedge the stick end of a match underneath the cord while it's plugged into the port in order to keep the cord in place. Seems to be working, so problem solved for now. So incredibly ghetto to see a dang match sticking out of my laptop, though.
Saturday's bridal shower for Michelle turned out rather well, which was a huge relief for me. I had been stressing over what food to make, what games to play, whether the guests would feel awkward, etc. But I think everyone in attendance had a good time (at least I hope so!). Now that that's over, it's on to planning for the bachelorette party next month.
Didn't do anything worth mentioning today... slept in ridiculously late and layed around and watched various movies on TV (right now it's Pirates of the Caribbean). How I love Sundays.
Shit, I'm not looking forward to going into work this week... will be really busy and no doubt cranky and stressed as a result of said busyness.
Oooh, Grey's is on... and I hear that extra piece of chocolate cake calling my name...
