Wow, I was in a bad mood yesterday. It didn't get much better after I left the office, either.
So, y'all know I've been staying at my Aunt's house in Jersey watching Joey while they're all frolicking at the beach. Last night I was watching TV and playing with Joey when Michael, my aunt's fiance walked in the door. He said 'hi' and then went upstairs. Cue the big question mark above my head. About a minute later my aunt called and said that she was on her way home to talk to Michael, but didn't give me too many details, just that there were problems with his kids. H'okay. She also mentioned possibly taking Joey back to the beach with them for the remainder of the week. Hmmm, h'okay. So I packed up my stuff, threw it in the car and drove back to my apartment.
Mom stayed the night with me instead of driving straight to the shore (she would have gotten there after midnight). This morning we split ways; her to the shore, me to work (boo). The fun didn't end there, however. I had to help Mom navigate her way to 42 South and somehow she ended up in Camden among shipping trucks and hookers. I ignored the stares from fellow passengers on the El shuttle bus when I told Mom to "drive away from the hooker."
Anyway, I made it to work and Mom finally found herself in the right direction to the shore, so all is well. The sun even decided to make an appearance after a very cloudy start to the day. The only thing that sucks now is after I get back to my place tonight, I have to drive to Jersey and stay with Joey until Saturday. My poor car! She already has almost 7,000 miles on her and she's only four months old!
