So I find myself living in Jersey, yet again. Although this time it's only for a week, not three months. I'm dog-sitting Joey while my aunt and her family are at the shore for vacation. I decided to squat here for the week because 1. Traveling between here and West Chester would have cost too much ($3.00 toll to re-enter PA each time) and would have put a ton of miles on my car (already past the 6500 mile mark and I've had it almost four months), and 2. Part of the El line I take into work is shut down this week for repairs, meaning I would have had to find an alterior route or drive into the city every day.
Hello, Jersey. I'm back. Didja miss me?
I had planned on making yet another trip back to Harrisburg this Friday for a doctor's appointment because turns out I'm allergic to my new medication; the cause of the achy feelings I had last week and of the rash that suddenly appeared on my body right before the weekend started. However, now that the Jersey relatives are planning on staying an extra day, I'll have to stay here until Saturday. I called my doctor this morning and she's going to put me on a new medication once the current one is out of my system.
I didn't go into work today. My reason was this allergic reaction, but really I just didn't want to go. I'm losing the will to go into the PHC office every day, which isn't good because the next few weeks are going to be extremely hectic. My boss is out on vacation until Monday, at which point the Asst. Director begins her vacation. So I have to pick up the slack for both of them, including making preparations for a site visit in early August, booking a high-profile speaker for an event in October and doing Web site updates. NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO ANY OF THIS. I haven't heard anything from the company I interviewed with on June 29, despite the thank-you card I mailed immediately after my interview and the thank-you e-mail I sent early last week. *sigh* I just wish someone would contact me, even if it's a rejection. At least then I'd be able to move on to the next job opportunity.
Well, there you have it. Nothing too exciting, right? And I'm going to go now because Joey is giving me the "I have to pee" stare.
I am:
okay
