So, the weekend. Michelle's wedding ceremony was beautiful (although the four of us -- bride, groom, best man and maid of honor) messed up on some occassions. The ceremony took place in a Catholic church and therefore we had to adhere to Catholic marriage traditions -- standing, sitting, kneeling, saying prayers, singing, walking around huge columns, etc. I'd never seen a Catholic wedding before, let alone be part of one, so it was quite the experience. I think if we would have done a bit more rehearsing at the rehearsal we would have been more prepared, but ah well. It otherwise went pretty smoothly and I don't think anyone noticed or minded that we goofed about where to stand and how to get there. :)
The reception after the wedding was also a lot of fun. The wedding party arrived late because we were taking photos at Michelle's parents' neighbor's house (got that?) because she has a beautiful backyard. We finally FINALLY got to eat something, which was most welcome (the bride, her mom, aunt and I all went out for breakfast early in the morning but we hadn't eaten since then). Although like I told Michelle, she was killing me with the meals -- big dinner after the rehearsal, big breakfast and a big dinner at the reception -- no wonder my dress was tight! ;)
By the end of the night I was exhausted... I had only gotten two-and-a-half hours of sleep the night before and after the day's excitement I was ready to pass out into a nice, long coma. But my mom wanted her jewelry back (I had borrowed her pearl earrings and necklace), so I drove to her house. Once I arrived, though, I promptly headed up to bed.
I didn't do much on Sunday except help my mom input a few Library Association conference registrations. I left at around 6:00 and decided to stop at a Walmart in Ephrata along the way to pick up my Halloween costume. Though before I got there, I found a beautiful sight: A FREAKING SONIC IN PENNSYLVANIA. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I have been waiting for this drive-through chain to make it up North for so long because the food there is excellent -- I got my Sonic cheeseburger and an Orange Cream Slush. Mmmmm-mmmmm goooooood. I'll probably stop in whenever I'm heading to/from Mom's house, haha. Then, while pulling out of the Sonic lot, I saw a gas station that had gas advertised at $2.17/gallon. Rock on -- Sonic AND cheap gas (well, cheap compared to the $2.35-65 prices in the greater Philadelphia area). So, needless to say, I was a pretty happy bunny last night.
All righty, I'm going to relax for a bit before I have to head down to the lobby... stupid PA Politics Symposium...
I feel:
annoyed at the thought of having to schmooze people I don't want to schmooze
