I stopped in Malvern on the way home to get gas, and on the way back towards my normal route I was rear-ended.
It was the other driver's fault, as I was completely stopped at a red light, but there was absolutely nothing I could do to avoid the hit. I saw him coming up pretty fast in the rear-view mirror, but wasn't able to move because a) I was stopped under a bridge, b) there were cars in front of me, and c) cars coming the opposite direction. So I just braced myself and took the hit.
Ugh, what a horrible feeling. As soon as I was clear, I pulled off to the side of the road, got out, and inspected the damage (dented bumper and trunk hatch, lots of scratches, and my license plate is almost bent in half). The guy who hit me was so embarrassed and apologetic, which was nice, but didn't really help fix my car, you know? =/
We traded insurance information and went our separate ways. I've already put in the claim to his insurance company and I'm just waiting for them to call me back now.
Wah! My baby is hurt! Could have been worse, though, I guess. I'm not hurt at all and neither is he.
