My plan to have a nice picnic in the park was cut short by threatening thunderstorms, but lldangerous, TJ and I managed to snarf down a few grilled hot dogs and hamburgers (Bubba Burgers, mmmmmm) before the skies opened. Lib and Em arrived the same time the rain did, so we moved things inside for viewings of "The Colbert Report," "The Daily Show," and "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends." Yes, we are an eclectic bunch. :)
Afterwards, the weather still didn't look too good, so we ended up grabbing drinks at Chili's and catching an evening showing of "Ratatouille" - which was absolutely fabulous, by the way. It'll definitely be added to my DVD collection. It was still raining when the movie ended, so we didn't get to see any live fireworks. Though when I got home I turned on NBC and watched the broadcast of the fireworks in NYC.
Having a day off in the middle of the week was nice, but boy did it throw everything off. And working from home today didn't really help matters, especially when two little kitties insisted on helping me format a rather lengthy document.
Speaking of kitties, Chloe is absolutely cracking me up right now. She's running around the apartment with her little red bear in her mouth, playing keep-away from Oliver. And every now and then when she passes the entertainment center she'll drop the bear, fluff herself up and bounce around in an attempt to intimidate her reflection in the glass. Oliver just sits there and stares at her, and then full-on attacks her. At which point she picks up the bear and the chase resumes.
Hehe.
Friday tomorrow! And then the weekend!
