I've lived in West Chester on and off for six years and up until now had never seen the elusive Bam. Nearly all of my WC friends had seen him at one point (one even worked for him for a little while), except me. It became a goal of mine to catch a glimpse of him; just a glimpse and I would be satisfied.
Today was that day.
Emily, her boyfriend Matt, and I walked from my apartment to downtown WC for the Rotary Club's fifth annual Chili Cook-off earlier this afternoon. We had just turned onto High Street off of Chestnut, when Matt pointed out a blue Lamborghini heading north on High. I honestly was expecting to see some old dude in the car, because realistically they (and celebrities obviously) are the only ones who can afford such an extravagant car. But as the Lamborghini drove closer, sure enough, there was Bam in the driver's seat! One of his buddies was in the passenger's seat, so I wonder if they were just leaving the Cook-off. They may have been there to help kick-start things, and then left before the huge crowds arrived.
So, hooray! Goal reached!
The Chili Cook-off was excellent, just like last year. It seemed even bigger this time around, though. Three full blocks, from High Street to New Street, were lined with 90 chili vendors, live music, games, etc. We only hit about a third of the vendors before we started feeling really full. Those little sample cups sure add up quickly!
