So the trip back to childhood continues. I am currently in my pajamas, laying on the couch, watching Dumbo on the Disney Channel and eating more chicken nuggets.
maybelle's post about not being able to recall memories from childhood got me thinking. I don't have very many vivid childhood memories, but one I do remember involves this movie. Whenever I was sick as a kid and my mom wasn't able to stay home with me, she'd take me to my grandparents' house. My Grammy had stashed away a few kids' movies for this very purpose, and Dumbo was one of a few select Disney movies she had. I can remember sitting on the floor in front of the TV, eating chicken nuggets or a grilled cheese sandwich with chicken noodle soup and watching Dumbo or Lady and the Tramp. Then Grampy-Pa would get home from work and I'd pick out another movie to watch, and crawl into his lap or sit snuggled beside him until Mom came to pick me up.
Things were so simple back then, so in my chaotic life as an adult, it's nice to revert back to being a young kid when the biggest decision of the day would be whether to go on an adventure with the Tramp or soar through the skies with Dumbo.
