Weekend round-up.

Lots of running around this weekend (Rachel finally hit 10,000 miles *sob*), but I definitely had a lot of fun.

After work on Friday I drove to Mom's house to pick up her pearl earrings and necklace for the wedding.  She helped me dye my roots but I realized that I'll just need to dye my whole head... there is still a definite line from the last dye job, where the bottom half of my hair is a lighter brown and the top is still darker.  Grr.  Saw my brothers very quickly, as Geoff had to be at work at midnight and so wanted to get in a few hours' sleep, and Ryan was tired from working until 10:00 p.m.

Saturday I got up relatively early and finished my laundry.  That took longer than I expected though and I didn't leave Mom's until noon.  Stopped off in Exton on the way back to WC to pick up a few things for the bachelorette party (cowboy hat!), arrived back at my apartment, showered, changed, did my make-up and then passed out on the couch until Nicole arrived at 5:30.  She and I met Michelle and her friend Jaime at TGIFriday's for dinner (mmm Potato Skinny Dippers appetizer mmmmm) and then the four of us drove out to Low Places in Lancaster for some good 'ol country line dancing.  However, I found out rather quickly that these feet just aren't made for synchronized dancing.  Ha.

Got back to WC pretty late (2:00 a.m.) on Sunday morning, so I crawled into bed and slept until 8:30 a.m.  Damn my system for not being able to sleep in late anymore.  I cleaned the entire morning through the early part of the afternoon.  Lord, but that takes a lot of energy.  By 2:30 I was pooped and so plopped down on the couch to watch The Phantom on Sci-Fi.  Horrible movie, I know, but I enjoy it.

Lauren dropped by later for the dinner that I'd been planning all week: Chicken, Chorizo and Tortilla "Stoup," a recipe courtesy of Rachel Ray.  Girl's never let me down before with her recipes and last night's was another winner.  Mmmmm mmmmmm gooooooood.  I had some of the leftovers for lunch today and it's just as good the second time around.  For dessert we had yummy pumpkin-and-raisin bread and were in a happy food-coma-like state for the season premiere of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

At the first hint of autumn I go into cooking mode.  It's like those cold, blustery winds blow me right into the kitchen and encourage me to try out new recipes (with my lovely friends as taste-testing guinea pigs, of course).  The next dish I want to try will either be tomato dill soup or pumpkin soup with chili cran-apple relish (the latter is another Rachel Ray recipe).  Nothing goes better with cold days than a bowl of hot soup.  :)

So, that's it.  This week is going to be pretty crazy at work, especially since I'll only be in the office on Monday next week (meeting in Harrisburg on Tuesday, vacation Wednesday-Friday).  There are a bajillion-and-one things on my to-do list and yet my mind keeps wandering to other things... especially how much I'd rather be snuggled up in my bed covers right now.  Just can't seem to wake up today, despite already having two cups of coffee.  =/

Anyhoo, back to work (maybe).

I am:  sleepy
